Effective September 1, 2020, ECECD waived child care assistance copayments for families with income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL) and paid providers those amounts directly. Effective May 1, 2022, ECECD expanded this copayment waiver to include all eligible families, including families with income above 200% FPL and at or below 400% FPL. ECECD has waived copayments for all families that are eligible for child care assistance through June 30, 2023, subject to budgetary considerations. During this time period, ECECD will pay all copayments directly to the providers and will include those copayments in ECECD’s monthly provider payment.
