The NewMexicoKids.org website is a portal for New Mexico families, early childhood professionals and the general public to find information on early childhood professional development, training and technical assistance, consumer education resources on child development, and child care and home visiting referrals. The primary goals of the website are:
- To assist the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) in its statutorily authorized mission of implementing a statewide system of professional development for those working with children from birth through eight years of age and their families and those working with children and families in before and after school care programs.
- To support New Mexico’s Tiered Quality Rating Improvement System, FOCUS.
- To support families in their search referrals to community resources including referrals to child care and home visiting programs.
- To provide links to early childhood partner organizations and agencies that offer information and resources related to child development, early developmental screening, and early learning.
The University of New Mexico Early Childhood Services Center has primary responsibility for the design and updating of the website, in close consultation with New Mexico ECECD.
