What is FOCUS?


"FOCUS on Young Children's Learning" is New Mexico's third generation Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System (TQRIS). Developed by the Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD), the goal of FOCUS is to foster program leadership, cultivate teacher quality, and support positive outcomes for all children.
 

Who is eligible for FOCUS?


Similar to AIM HIGH, FOCUS is voluntary. Licensed family child care homes, child care centers, and school-age programs may apply. Programs must meet 2-STAR criteria to participate.

FOCUS Planning Grant Application FY17/18

We are happy to release the application for the FOCUS Planning Grant FY17/18. The planning grant is being revised to reimburse programs based on number of classrooms, instead of number of teachers and floaters. Programs will receive points, based on the information provided and awards will be made based on those calculations. You will be notified within 45 days the status of the grant award and the amount you will be eligible for. If awarded, programs can submit July planning time on August 1st. This grant period will be 7/1/17 - 6/30/18. Should you have any questions, please contact me at FOCUS@nullREGIONIX.ORG.

Note: If you are are currently participating in the FOCUS Planning Grant, be advised it will end June 30, 2017.   All hours must be submitted by end of day July 1, 2017.  NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE PROCESSED!!
