The Department of Health announced beginning Monday, April 5, all New Mexicans 16+ will be eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccine. Currently, Phases 1A, 1B, and 1C are eligible. In total, all of Phases 1A, 1B, and 1C are now eligible. DOH will continue to prioritize vaccine invitations for Phase 1A, New Mexicans 75 years and older, and New Mexicans 60 years and older with a chronic condition. The CDC has indicated that states should expect meaningful increases in vaccine supply over the coming weeks – including significant increases in the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
New Mexico continues to lead the nation in vaccine distribution, and DOH encourages all New Mexicans to register at vaccineNM.org. The registration site is accessible from a computer or smartphone and is designed to be user-friendly. New Mexicans who have vaccine questions can visit vaccineNM.org/facts, and CDC FAQ.

Per the updated ECECD Health and Safety Guidelines, released March 26, 2021, all staff must test for COVID-19 monthly, including all household members in registered and licensed homes. The only change is that testing is monthly instead of every other week. Testing must continue for staff/family members who have received the vaccine. Per DOH, having the vaccine does not prevent an individual from contracting and spreading COVID-19.
Please ask your staff to make appointments for on-site testing via the Department of Health Registration Application Portal. Please include the name of the child care facility when registering. If your organization has multiple sites, please provide the address of the facility where you work. In the case of a Rapid Response to a positive case, staff, parents and other caregivers, who were a close contact, will use the same portal to register for testing. Additionally, please ask them to include the name of the child care facility when they register.
VAULT Testing Updated March 26, 2021 - Vault can still be used for mandatory monthly testing, however ECECD no longer provides unique codes to providers. Each individual orders their own VAULT test and no unique link is required. There is no cost.
