Job Description: The ideal candidates will work as part of a teaching team to assist in the orderly functioning of the classroom to provide an appropriate social-emotional environment in order to expand the child’s ability to learn and grow. Jobs may involve reassignment to various classrooms and/or schedules may be adjusted as deemed necessary for program operations. In addition to working with the teaching team, the Assistant Director will work as an integral part of the administrative team and must be able to work closely with families.

Requirements:

  • All applicants must be 18 years or older.
  • HS diploma/GED required.
  • Must complete the NM 45-hour entry level course or an approved 3 credit early care and education course or an equivalent approved by CYFD prior to or within six months of employment.
  • Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid/Blood-borne Pathogens certification within the first three months of employment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with Associates Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, or whose degree is in progress. Candidates working towards their NM Child Development Certification will also be considered.
  • At least two years of experience in the classroom required.
  • Must be willing to complete all annual training hours as required by NM State Licensing and FOCUS.

  12. One year supervisory experience required.
  13. Experience in financial management and budgeting preferred.

Salary Range:  $13.17 to $20.64 per hour, dependent on education
