Training / Education Certification


A myriad of training opportunities are available to early care and education staff, families and interested community members. Training sessions offered meet the New Mexico Core Competency Areas for Early Care, Education and Family Support and are provided by qualified trainers from the New Mexico Early Childhood Trainer Registry.


Higher Education

If you would like to work as a teacher, child care provider, home visitor, program administrator, early interventionist, mentor or program development specialist with children birth through third grade, this information may be useful for you.

CYFD’s Office of Child Development issues certificates for individuals that complete the requirements for the 45-Hour Entry Level Course, NM Child Development Certificate, one year vocational certificate, Associate of Arts and Science degree and 45-Hour Entry Level Facilitator training.
